I am a mother of five children and have been a practicing therapist for over 8 years. In addition to being an Arvigo® Maya Abdominal Therapist, I am also qualified as a Swedish massage therapist, Reflexologist and Reiki healer.
As a massage therapist, I became increasingly aware that a large percentage of my female clients came for help with what they felt were gynaecological-related problems. Many of these women had sought medical advice and been told that they had a tipped or prolapsed uterus but that it was normal and not to worry about it. Those who had pursued it further had been offered birth control medication, muscle relaxants or even surgery as solutions to consider.
As I had been offered the same limited options at various points throughout my life, I resonated with their frustration and was convinced that there must be another, more natural and less invasive way. I began to wonder “Is this a modern phenomenon or have we just forgotten how to look after out wombs? What do women in so-called “primitive” cultures do for gynae health?
To cut a very long story short, all my questions were answered when I discovered the work of Dr Rosita Arvigo and her mentor Don Elijio
Today as an Arvigo® practitioner I am convinced that Maya massage is a healing technique that every woman should know and together with my fellow sister and brother practitioners am on a mission to bring this wonderful, self-empowering knowledge to the world.
